Gardening Books >Cape Gooseberry

These unusual but easy-to-grow South American natives, produce copious quantities of attractive and deliciously sweet, yellow fruit. Their papery husks make them perfect for an exotic touch in dressing up a fruit plate or dessert. Cape Gooseberries are commercially grown in South Africa where they are canned whole or made into jam for export as well as domestic use. Start indoors as you would a tomato.
