hispanicaEXCELSIORRich, deep-blue flowers with a darker blue streak on the inside. An heirloom variety from 1906. Ht. 25-30cm (10-12").
(Spanish Bluebells) The parents of these hybrids come from the mountains and woodlands of southern Europe and North Africa. Loose spikes of little bells with recurved rims atop sturdy spikes in a range of colours. They are excellent garden plants where their informal flower spikes in late spring fit well in a mixed border of plants. They grow in full sun to light shade, tolerate dry conditions, naturalize well and last in the garden for years and years. A great companion for Narcissus. Hardy to zone 4.
Tops size 10+cm bulbs. |
