monieriHUMMELONew 2010 INTRODUCTION
A veritable forest of awesome pink bottle-brush blooms for weeks in midsummer on sturdy stalks thrust above a carpet of puckered, apple-green foliage. Popular with Bees, Butterflies and Birds, and has great winter interest if not cut down. The winner at the 2004 Stachys trials in the Chicago Botanical Gardens where its season-long performance and stunning bloom demanded first prize. It likes full sun but will tolerate some shade providing there's good drainage. HUMMELO looks wonderful en mass in the border where its vertical interest and ground covering foliage is a real plus. Looks wonderful with Achillea STRAWBERRY_SEDUCTION. It will benefit from division every few years. Ht. 45-50cm (18-20"), spread 45cm (18"). Hardy to zone 4.
Shipped well-rooted in our 1 litre, extra-deep 4.5" pots.
