PAVONIA MIXED

An eyecatching display of all the shades of scarlet, orange, pink, yellow, mauve and white, usually with contrasting markings. Jumbo 7/8cm bulbs.

This exotic Mexican bulb is sometimes called peacock flower, an appropriate name in view of its quite startling colour combinations. They like full sun in a well drained soil. While each 10-15cm. (4-6”) flower lasts only a short time, they are borne is succession for several weeks. Height 30 - 60cm. (12-24”). Plant 20cm. (8”) apart. Cultivation is the same as Gladiolus. Hardy to zone 7. In colder areas, lift in the autumn and store cool (10 oC) in sand indoors.
